United States President Donald Trump<\/strong> announced this Wednesday that Karoline Leavitt<\/strong> will step down from her position as White House press secretary<\/strong> at the end of August, a decision he attributed to her intention to spend more time with her young children and family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>Trump announced the departure via Truth Social and stated that he understands and respects the decision of his spokesperson, whom he defined as one of his most trusted advisors. Leavitt has held the position since the beginning of Trump’s second term and became one of the main communication figures of his administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c<\/strong>Our wonderful White House Press Secretary, and one of my most trusted advisors, Karoline Leavitt, will be leaving her position at the end of the month to be able to spend more time with her beautiful young children and her family\u201d, wrote Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>The president added that he fully understands and respects Leavitt’s decision, but anticipated that her departure from the government will not mean her distancing from his political circle. According to Trump, the official will remain linked to his administration as an external advisor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKaroline will now be one of my top outside advisors and an influential voice within the Republican Party, as we work to defy history and win the midterm elections decisively,\u201d the president stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>The United States midterm elections are scheduled for November of this year and will determine the composition of the House of Representatives<\/strong> and part of the Senate. Trump thus linked Leavitt’s new role to the Republican Party’s political strategy ahead of those elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The president also highlighted Leavitt’s work over the last few years and recalled her participation in different stages of his political movement, including the 2024 presidential campaign that ended with his return to the White House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKaroline has been a true leader in the White House and has done a phenomenal job fighting for Justice, Liberty, and Freedom, since 2018, including our historic 2024 reelection campaign,\u201d Trump maintained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Karoline Leavitt has held the position of White House Press Secretary since the beginning of Donald Trump’s second term. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leavitt, 28, took office as press secretary on January 20, 2025, becoming the youngest person to hold that position. Before returning to the White House, she had worked as a spokesperson for Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign and during his first administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump concluded his message with an acknowledgment of her performance leading White House communications and placed her among the people who, in his estimation, have held the position best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKaroline has been one of the best White House press secretaries in the history of the position. Thank you, Karoline, for a job well done!<\/strong>\u201d, concluded the president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The departure comes after Leavitt resumed her public duties following maternity leave. In recent weeks, she had returned to participating in White House communications activities and press briefings for reporters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
