(Generated Low Output Voltage Emitter)<\/strong>, are designed to look like conventional gloves but can deliver an electrical discharge when activated by the agent. ICE would potentially distribute them among agents with <strong>Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO)<\/strong> and officers with <strong>Homeland Security Investigations (HSI)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The gloves are manufactured by <strong>Compliant Technologies<\/strong>, a Kentucky-based company that describes the devices as a tool for helping officers de-escalate tense situations and reducing the risk of injuries to agents and civilians. The manufacturer markets them as a non-lethal option that can be used from a distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The planned purchase comes amid continued scrutiny of immigration enforcement operations and allegations of excessive use of force.
