Santiago.\u2013<\/strong> The Association of Merchants and Industrialists (ACIS)<\/a>, together with the Dominican Institute for the Prevention and Protection of Occupational Risks (IDOPPRIL), held the XI International Congress on Occupational Risk Prevention and Management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting brought together government authorities, representatives of the business sector, organizations linked to the Dominican Social Security System, and national and international specialists, who participated in a professional development program and exchange of experiences on new trends in safety, health, and workplace well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the opening, the executive director of IDOPPRIL, Dr. Agust\u00edn Burgos, highlighted the importance of prevention to reduce work-related accidents and occupational diseases, as well as to promote safer and healthier workplaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Burgos also highlighted the need to maintain guidance, training, and awareness actions aimed at workers and employers, as part of the efforts to strengthen a culture of prevention in both the public and private sectors of the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, he valued the holding of these types of meetings, considering that they allow for the sharing of knowledge, experiences, and best practices, in addition to developing strategies aimed at improving the management of safety and health in workspaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opening ceremony was also led by the Minister of Labor, Eddy Olivares; the president of ACIS, engineer Marcos Santana; and the Congress coordinator, Osiris Isidor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During his speech, the Minister of Labor stated that occupational risk prevention must become a permanent culture of protecting life and highlighted that safety and health at work constitute a priority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is everyone’s task: both employers and workers, who have also taken it on,\u201d expressed Olivares, noting that preventing occupational risks involves protecting the life and dignity of people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For his part, the president of ACIS, engineer Marcos Santana, stated that the Congress constitutes a space to foster a culture of innovation, knowledge, and the adoption of best practices in the prevention and management of occupational risks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Santana also highlighted the importance of incorporating technological advances and artificial intelligence tools into preventive processes, with the goal of anticipating risks, improving decision-making, and contributing to the creation of safer, healthier, and more productive work environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the Congress coordinator, Osiris Isidor, explained that this eleventh edition was conceived with an updated and diverse academic program, focused on the main challenges currently facing organizations regarding occupational health and safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the inaugural ceremony, the former coordinators of the International Congress on Occupational Risk Prevention and Management, Jos\u00e9 Octavio P\u00e9rez, Miguel Esteban P\u00e9rez, and F\u00e9lix Eduardo Garc\u00eda, were also recognized for their contributions to the growth and consolidation of this initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The activity took place on August 13th and 14th at a hotel in Santiago de los Caballeros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IDOPPRIL participates in a panel on the future of occupational health and safety<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the main spaces of the Congress was the panel \u201cThe future of occupational safety and health in the Dominican Republic,\u201d in which representatives from IDOPPRIL, the Ministry of Labor, the National Social Security Council, the General Directorate of Information and Defense of Affiliates, and the Superintendence of Health and Occupational Risks participated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the two days, a broad academic program was developed on topics of interest for the present and future of work, including preventive innovation, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, mental health, fatigue, and occupational road safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agenda also included the participation of international speakers, who shared knowledge, research, best practices, and experiences applicable to different productive sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Congress concluded with a call to integrate innovation, ethics, leadership, and prevention into the strategic management of organizations, placing the protection and well-being of people as essential elements for sustainable development and business competitiveness.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
