Santo Domingo<\/strong>.- The Banreservas Cultural Center reaffirms its commitment to preserving Dominican musical roots through initiatives that seek to rescue the legacy of figures who have contributed to the development of national culture and bring their works back to the stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was explained by Mija\u00edl Peralta, manager of the Culture Division of Banco de Reservas, during the \u201cA Ritmo de Son\u201d concert, held in tribute to musicians and soneros C\u00e9sar Namn\u00fam and Kundengo Minier, together with the Ra\u00edces, Arte y Cultura Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peralta explained that the Cultural Center strives to ensure the public has contact with expressions of Dominican identity, including son, a genre he defined as \u201cone of the great Caribbean musics\u201d and which, in his view, continues to have a special bond with Dominicans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat we are doing is trying to rescue and remember and put back on stage the work of these two great men,\u201d stated Peralta, while highlighting the importance of keeping the work of both exponents alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cultural manager maintained that this type of gathering allows for the recovery of musical memory and brings the public closer to artists who are part of the country’s cultural history. In that sense, he highlighted that the tribute to Namn\u00fam and Minier also represents an opportunity for their compositions and contributions to once again occupy a space on stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regarding the reception of the genre, Peralta considered that son \u201cis experiencing a great moment,\u201d while highlighting its permanence within the Caribbean musical expressions that continue to connect with the Dominican public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although he expressed his wish that the celebration could be extended for a week to exalt the music of the Caribbean and the work of both artists, he explained that on this occasion it was a tribute concert held over a single day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
