{"id":521780,"date":"2026-08-16T19:11:28","date_gmt":"2026-08-16T23:11:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.com\/en\/uncategorized\/banreservas-cultural-center-celebrates-the-legacy-of-kundengo-minier-and-cesar-namnum-in-dominican-son\/"},"modified":"2026-08-16T19:11:28","modified_gmt":"2026-08-16T23:11:28","slug":"banreservas-cultural-center-celebrates-the-legacy-of-kundengo-minier-and-cesar-namnum-in-dominican-son","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.com\/en\/style\/banreservas-cultural-center-celebrates-the-legacy-of-kundengo-minier-and-cesar-namnum-in-dominican-son\/","title":{"rendered":"Banreservas Cultural Center celebrates the legacy of Kundengo Minier and C\u00e9sar Namn\u00fam in Dominican son"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Santo Domingo<\/strong>.- The <strong>Banreservas Cultural Center<\/strong> paid tribute to Jes\u00fas <strong>\u201cKundengo\u201d Minier and C\u00e9sar Namn\u00fam,<\/strong> prominent exponents and promoters of Dominican son, in recognition of a career spanning more than five decades dedicated to preserving, researching, and disseminating this essential expression of the country&#8217;s traditional music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The recognition took place during the <strong>A Ritmo de Son<\/strong> concert, headlined by Roberto Bobadilla and the group Son Urbano, in an evening that brought together music, dance, and cultural memory to celebrate the legacy of the honorees and their contribution to the persistence of the genre in the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The manager of the Banreservas Culture Division, Mija\u00edl Peralta, and Ana Mar\u00eda Henr\u00edquez, from the Arte y Cultura Ra\u00edces Foundation, presented plaques of recognition to Kundengo Minier and C\u00e9sar Namn\u00fan for their contributions to Dominican art, culture, and traditional music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the event, the honorees expressed their gratitude for the distinction and shared with the audience their passion for tropical music, especially for son, a genre to which they have dedicated a significant part of their lives and whose dissemination they have promoted for several generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Music played a central role in the celebration. Kundengo Minier and C\u00e9sar Namn\u00fan shared the stage on a journey through songs such as Ven mi morena, Celo al aire, Isabel, La Paloma, and A la loma de Bel\u00e9n. Their participation culminated in a joint performance of Cuarto de Tula, one of the best-known pieces in the son repertoire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The evening continued with performances of La Zona merece un son, Blanco y Negreta, Ya lleg\u00f3 el colador, Son a Villa Francisca, Son de San Ant\u00f3n, El Pecaito, and Homenaje a Piro Valerio, which encouraged the audience to join in the rhythm and dance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The repertoire was performed by Roberto Bobadilla and the group Son Urbano, composed of Ram\u00f3n Mart\u00ednez Monta\u00f1a, piano; Ram\u00f3n del Carmen Ortiz, bass; Rafael Rodr\u00edguez Su\u00e1rez, trumpet; Gioel Martin, tres; Hip\u00f3lito Payano, bongo, and Jos\u00e9 Luis Bahamontes, g\u00fcira and timbal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Trajectories<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kundengo Minier is a guitarist, cuatrista, and builder of his own instruments.
