Santo Domingo.\u2013<\/strong> After concluding his tenure at the head of the National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (Intrant), Milton Morrison<\/strong> announced this Monday that he will immediately resume political work in the streets with the goal of strengthening and consolidating Pa\u00eds Posible, the organization he founded before assuming duties in the Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During a meeting with the press at the Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaragua Hotel & Casino, Morrison <\/strong>explained that his foray into politics was never motivated by the pursuit of a public office or a job, but rather by his interest in contributing to the country from a space other than the business and professional one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Morrison recalled that before founding Pa\u00eds Posible, he held the executive vice presidency of the Dominican Association of the Electric Industry (ADIE)<\/strong> for nearly a decade, in addition to developing business activities through Morrison Engineering, a company founded with his brother Nelson in 1998.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As he recounted, at that time he enjoyed professional and financial stability, but he decided to leave that \u201ccomfort zone\u201d to undertake a political project from scratch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI left my comfort zone, my peace of mind, and my stability to found a political party from scratch, without godfathers, without electoral machines, without a single peso from the State, and going house by house\u201d<\/strong>, he maintained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The leader pointed out that that process allowed for gathering the necessary affiliations to obtain legal recognition for Pa\u00eds Posible, an organization that, he affirmed, currently has a structure and its own space within the Dominican political scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are back on the road, we are back on the street\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Morrison announced that his return to party activities will begin immediately and that during this same week he will visit different municipalities in the country to reunite with the leadership of Pa\u00eds Posible and listen to its members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat path starts right now. Tomorrow, within this week, we will be in various municipalities reconnecting with our leadership, listening to each other in that process of returning to the path\u201d<\/strong>, he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In that context, he announced an opening of the organization to different sectors of society, including people who until now have remained distant from party activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Pa\u00eds Posible party is opening up to young people, women, professionals, workers, entrepreneurs, community leaders, Dominicans in the diaspora, and it is especially opening up to those good people who have never been involved in anything because politics never gave them a reason to do so,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Morrison added that the purpose is to build an organization in which the political background of its members does not represent a barrier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo all of you I say: it does not matter where you come from, it matters where we want to go together in the Dominican Republic\u201d<\/strong>, he expressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlights international presence of Pa\u00eds Posible<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The president of Pa\u00eds Posible also highlighted the progress made by the organization in terms of international relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He indicated that in 2022 the party managed to join the Permanent Conference of Political Parties of Latin America and the Caribbean (COPPPAL) and noted that he was subsequently ratified unanimously as vice president of that organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, he reported that Pa\u00eds Posible holds regional representation positions for the Caribbean within organizations linked to COPPPAL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, Morrison also announced that he was appointed to represent the Latin American organization before a business council linked to cooperation spaces between political parties from Asia and other regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He explained that from that position he will seek to contribute to the promotion of investments and economic relations between Asia and Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also announced that in the coming weeks he will participate in an international summit in Asia, where, as he explained, political representatives from Asian, African, European, and Latin American countries will meet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are not here to look back\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Morrison maintained that this new stage will be focused on the future of Pa\u00eds Posible and highlighted that, unlike the moment when he started his political project, he now has an established organization and an active membership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are not here to look back, we are here to look forward. We left comfort once to start from scratch and we do not regret it. Today we start walking the path again, but no longer from scratch,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
