Santo Domingo<\/strong>.\u2013The vice mayor of the Los Alcarrizos municipality, Felicia Santos Fr\u00edas, left the ranks of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) and joined the People’s Force (FP) along with more than 300 people, including political and community leaders, merchants, professionals, and representatives from various sectors, during an event led by the organization’s president, Leonel Fern\u00e1ndez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Uni\u00f3n y Progreso Sports and Cultural Club (CUP<\/a>), in Los Alcarrizos, as part of the political activities carried out by Fern\u00e1ndez over the weekend in different municipalities of Greater Santo Domingo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the people who accompanied Santos Fr\u00edas are political and community leaders, merchants, professionals from different areas, health sector workers, transporters, and micro-entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Felicia Santos explains departure from PRM<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When referring to his decision, Santos Fr\u00edas expressed his support for Fern\u00e1ndez’s leadership and pointed out that his joining the Fuerza del Pueblo responds to his intention to participate in that organization’s political project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The municipal official maintained that young people, women, and families in Los Alcarrizos are seeking alternatives in the face of the economic difficulties and lack of opportunities that, she claimed, they are currently facing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Santos Fr\u00edas also assured that her departure from the PRM and subsequent entry into the FP <\/a> did not occur individually, because she will continue her political work accompanied by the team that was sworn in during the activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 300 people join the People’s Force<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The deputy mayor of Los Alcarrizos joins the People’s Force (Fuerza del Pueblo)<\/strong> accompanied by more than 300 new members, according to the information provided during the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among those sworn in are doctors, nurses, bioanalysts, psychologists, merchants, transporters, micro-entrepreneurs, and community representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also mentioned were Luz Esther de los Santos, David Rodr\u00edguez, Julio Manuel Brito Suero, Dilenia Brito Javier, Abner Gabriel Pineda Brito, Mireya Javier, Bienvenido Guerrero, Robinson Castillo de los Santos, Esdra Karina de los Santos, and Berqueliz Pe\u00f1a Mat\u00edas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leonel Fern\u00e1ndez highlights incorporation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

During his speech, Fern\u00e1ndez valued the arrival of Santos Fr\u00edas to the organization and maintained that his integration represents both an increase in members and the incorporation of leaders with professional and political experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The former president of the Republic highlighted that Santos Fr\u00edas holds the vice-mayoralty of a municipality that, as he indicated, has around 350,000 inhabitants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fern\u00e1ndez also referred to the professional background of the official, who is a medical specialist in Family and Community Medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The leader announced that Santos Fr\u00edas will be integrated into the Health Secretariat of the Fuerza del Pueblo, from where she will contribute her knowledge and experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fern\u00e1ndez proposes a health model based on prevention<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When addressing the health issue, Fern\u00e1ndez explained that a potential Fuerza del Pueblo administration would seek to strengthen disease prevention through primary care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He indicated that the model would contemplate the participation of family doctors and social workers who visit homes to detect conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to your approach, this mechanism would allow for information on the health conditions of the population to be available and facilitate the supply of medicines and the corresponding care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fuerza del Pueblo continues swearing-in ceremonies<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Following the activity in Los Alcarrizos, Fern\u00e1ndez planned to continue his agenda this Saturday in Pedro Brand, where he would hold a meeting with representatives of productive and social sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The schedule includes meetings with merchants, micro-entrepreneurs, transporters, professionals, community organizations, women, and youth, in addition to another swearing-in of new members of the People’s Force (Fuerza del Pueblo).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The activities will continue this Sunday, August 23, in Santo Domingo Este and the National District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In El Almirante, Fern\u00e1ndez is scheduled to visit a micro-entrepreneur and will subsequently lead another induction of members. Later, he will travel to Los Mina to participate in the swearing-in of youth from Constituency 2 and the launch of the Youth for Tomorrow (JOPAMA) movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agenda will conclude at the Los Prados Club, in the National District, with another activity to welcome new members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
