In a statement released by the Iranian agencies Fars and Tasnim, linked to the Revolutionary Guard<\/strong>, the spokesperson for the elite corps asserted that the “terrorist aggression” will be “punished”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The message also indicates that the attack was carried out with drones<\/strong> and that it has left dead and wounded, without specifying the numbers, while in another statement a spokesperson for the Revolutionary Guard called the attack a “fatal strategic error.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For its part, a U.S. official, who requested anonymity, told CNN that the attack destroyed two platforms for launching rockets loaded with sea mines that Tehran was preparing to launch into the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the source, the U.S. military carried out the attack<\/strong>, which marks Washington’s first against an Iranian target in over a month, when Iranian forces were observed preparing to launch these rockets that deposit mines in the water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
