SAN PEDRO DE MACOR\u00cdS, DR.<\/strong> \u2013 The Estrellas Orientales announced that they will begin their training on September 14<\/strong> for the 2026-27 season of the Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM), scheduled to start on October 16<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The green team will open its work with a mini camp at the Detroit Tigers complex<\/strong>, located in the Ram\u00f3n Santana municipality, where the presence of pitchers and catchers is mainly expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsequently, on September 21st<\/strong>, the Stars will begin training with the full roster at the Tetelo Vargas Stadium<\/strong>, in San Pedro de Macor\u00eds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The work will be led by manager H\u00e9ctor Borg<\/strong>, who will make his debut at the helm of the Estrellas during the upcoming campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Borg will have a coaching staff composed of Carlos Valderrama<\/strong>, bench and base running coach; Carlos Paulino<\/strong>, assistant manager; Jairo Cuevas<\/strong>, pitching coach; Alex Concepci\u00f3n<\/strong>, assistant pitching coach; and Robelin Bautista<\/strong>, bullpen coach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The offensive area will be under the responsibility of Ren\u00e9 Rojas<\/strong>, hitting coach; Rafael Pe\u00f1a<\/strong>, hitting strategy coach; Land Carrero<\/strong>, assistant hitting coach, batting practice coach, and Parallel League coach; and Javier Roa<\/strong>, assistant coach for catchers, batting practice, and the Parallel League.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also part of the staff are Erick Salcedo<\/strong>, infield coach; Oscar Bernard<\/strong>, strategic coordination and game plan coach; Claudio Almonte<\/strong>, first base and outfield coach; and \u00c1ngel Rosario<\/strong>, third base coach and assistant game plan coach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two imports repeat<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

So far, the Estrellas Orientales have announced two imported players for the upcoming season, both with previous experience with the club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is about the gardener Ismael Mungu\u00eda<\/strong>, who led the league in batting average last season with .368<\/strong>, and the reliever Patrick Weigel<\/strong>, considered one of the main relievers of the team and the tournament during the last two campaigns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
