A major fire at an auto repair and body shop in Coney Island, Brooklyn, left five firefighters injured, all of whom were taken to a hospital with minor, non-life-threatening injuries, according to the New York City Fire Department (FDNY).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The fire broke out shortly after 9:30 a.m. at a single-story auto shop located at 3088 Cropsey Avenue. The blaze required a large emergency response, with at least 45 fire trucks and more than 140 firefighters and emergency medical personnel arriving at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The five injured firefighters were transported to NYC Health + Hospitals\/South Brooklyn Health for treatment. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Images captured by the Citizen app showed a dense column of black smoke rising from the single-story building as firefighters worked to enter the structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The fire was brought under control at approximately 10:15 a.m. Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Authorities are investigating the cause of the blaze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
