San Francisco de Macor\u00eds. \u2013<\/strong> The Gigantes del Cibao announced the signing of American infielder Jack Pineda<\/strong> as an imported player for the upcoming 2026-27 season of the Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pineda, 27 years old<\/strong>, belongs to the Kansas City Royals<\/strong> organization and plays primarily in the infield, with experience at shortstop, second base, and third base<\/strong>. He bats left and throws right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Excellent season in 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pineda is coming off an outstanding performance during the 2026 season in the Kansas City minor leagues. Between Double-A and Triple-A, he participated in 81 games<\/strong>, recording a .351<\/strong> average, with 104 hits, 20 doubles, three triples, nine home runs, 40 RBIs, 49 runs scored, and 18 stolen bases<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, he finished with an on-base percentage of .413<\/strong>, a slugging percentage of .530<\/strong>, and an excellent OPS of .944<\/strong>, demonstrating the ability to hit for average, reach base, and contribute speed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His best production came in Double-A with Northwest Arkansas<\/strong>, where he batted .371<\/strong> in 59 games, the result of 78 hits in 210 at-bats. There, he hit 10 doubles, three triples, and seven home runs, drove in 25 runs, scored 34, and stole 16 bases<\/strong>, with an OBP of .443 and an OPS of .991.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was subsequently promoted to Triple-A Omaha<\/strong>, where he maintained his strong performance by batting .302<\/strong>, with 10 doubles, two home runs, and 15 RBIs in 22 games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experience within the Kansas City organization<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pineda was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 12th round of the 2022 MLB Draft<\/strong>, coming from Baylor University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over four seasons in the minor leagues, he has participated in 321 games<\/strong>, accumulating 315 hits, 69 doubles, 21 home runs, 131 RBIs, and 58 stolen bases, in addition to recording a .268 batting average and a .355 on-base percentage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fifth import announced<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the signing of Pineda, the Gigantes del Cibao bring to five the number of imported players announced<\/strong> for the upcoming season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The infielder joins first baseman Jake Holton<\/strong> and pitchers Adam Seminaris, Jared Wetherbee and Jackson Goddard<\/strong>, who were previously announced by the organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
