An Egyptian court sentenced television presenter Sarah Khalifa<\/strong> and 11 other people to death by hanging<\/strong>, after finding them guilty of being part of a network dedicated to the manufacture and trafficking of synthetic narcotics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ruling was made known on Saturday and also includes the discovery of more than 750 kilograms of drugs and materials for their production<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Khalifa, 39, is known for hosting the program Mission Impossible<\/em>, dedicated to security and crime topics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also owns an aesthetic surgery clinic and a production company specializing in event organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The communicator has more than 2.5 million followers on Instagram and was arrested in Cairo<\/strong> in April 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The defendants formed a criminal organization<\/strong> dedicated to importing from abroad the necessary supplies to produce synthetic drugs<\/strong>, with the purpose of marketing them. The group also possessed firearms and ammunition without a license.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The court ruling detailed that “Khalifa and 11 other defendants were sentenced to death by hanging on charges of forming an organized criminal gang specialized in obtaining materials used to manufacture narcotics, with the intention of trafficking them, and for possessing and carrying firearms and ammunition without a license”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The verdict was announced after consulting the Grand Mufti of Egypt, a procedure that local legislation requires in cases involving capital punishment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sentence had been announced a month before its final confirmation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 28 people faced the judicial process. Of them, 12 received the death penalty, nine were sentenced to life imprisonment, and seven were acquitted of all charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The defendants faced charges for \u201cmanufacturing synthetic drugs with the intent to traffic them, through the importation from abroad of the materials used in their manufacture\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prosecution based its accusation on the statements of 20 witnesses, as well as digital evidence that included conversations, photographs, and videos documenting the criminal activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The authorities found two apartments that were operating as clandestine laboratories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scheme operated with differentiated roles among its members: some were in charge of importing the raw materials, while others manufactured and distributed the substances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The authorities also ordered the freezing of assets and bank accounts of the defendants, and ordered that those who were already detained remain in custody. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It should be noted that Sarah Khalifa<\/strong> denied the accusations against her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
