Cybercriminals used artificial intelligence to manipulate her image and voice in videos with false statements she never made. The co-host of Univision&#8217;s <em>Desiguales<\/em> asked her followers not to fall for this type of content and to always verify the source before sharing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI want to take a quick moment to clarify something that I find super important. Fake videos manipulated with artificial intelligence are circulating on social media in which, once again, my image and my voice are being used to attribute statements or actions to me that I have never made. These videos are in relation to me supposedly calling the police, federal immigration agents, to avoid payments to a supposed domestic worker whom I do not know, who has never even worked in my home nor with me. I want to be very clear, these videos are not real and these words and actions are not mine and have never occurred either in my home or on my part,\u201d she begins her video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adamari, who is not only a television star but also a mom to <strong>Ala\u00efa<\/strong>, explained and emphasized that the dissemination of these pieces could have significant consequences for her and, above all, for those who fall into the trap. \u201cI am especially worried and it makes me very sad that this type of content can generate fear, confusion, and misinformation within our community.\u201d As she also stated in another video on Facebook, in the fake videos, the created version of Adamari was calling the immigration agency (ICE) to have people from her Hispanic community removed from the United States. \u201cI would never do that; it is thanks to you that my career has moved forward. Everything that is coming out is a lie.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Given the ease with which this type of video can circulate on social media, the presenter called on her followers not to give credibility to something that has not been confirmed by the person in question, in this case, herself. \u201cPlease, do not believe or share everything you see on social media without first verifying where it comes from. If you want to know what I think or what I have said, look for it; you have it on my official accounts and I have always been here to face things. Thank you to those who know me, follow me, and help me stop this information, to all those who have sent me videos, messages, and words of encouragement because they know that this can cause huge problems,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is not the first time they have used their image for these practices, but this time they crossed many more boundaries. \u201cThis went much further than what has happened before and it had to be said and stopped. I love you all very much and I thank you for all your love and support,\u201d they expressed to their community, which has been in charge of informing them and sending them all these fake videos so that they could clarify everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A complaint once again brings to the table the risks of the misuse of artificial intelligence.
