Santiago.-<\/strong> The needs of Santiago’s main hospitals, the construction of a new maternity ward with specialized neonatal care, and the creation of a burn unit for adults will be some of the topics that the senator<\/a> of this province, Daniel Rivera<\/strong>, will present to President Luis Abinader during the workday he is carrying out this Tuesday from Santiago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daniel Rivera reported that during the meeting, the conditions and requirements of the Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Cabral y B\u00e1ez and Arturo Grull\u00f3n<\/strong> hospitals will be reviewed, in addition to the needs of the Presidente Estrella Ure\u00f1a hospital, with the purpose of identifying the areas that require new investments and expanding the response capacity of the health system in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The legislator also brought to the table the need to build a new maternity hospital for Santiago, because the current infrastructure has been in operation for several decades and, as he explained, the city requires a larger and more modern center, with greater capacity to attend to high-risk births and specialized neonatology services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe want a larger, more modern maternity ward that has very good coverage for specialized neonatal care,\u201d<\/strong> explained Daniel Rivera when referring to one of the priorities that will be discussed with the president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another of the proposals will be the possibility of enabling a burn unit for adults, an area that, according to the senator, constitutes a pending necessity for Santiago and that would allow for specialized care to be offered without patients having to be transferred out of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rivera further explained that the regional agenda includes the strengthening of hospital infrastructure, including trauma projects in other provinces of the Cibao, such as Valverde and La Vega, so Santiago must also identify the areas where it requires new facilities and specialized services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daniel Rivera assessed as positive that President Luis Abinader has moved his office to Santiago during these days, considering that this modality allows the Government to know the needs of the communities directly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He highlighted that, in addition to Santiago, the presidential schedule includes contacts with authorities from other municipalities and provinces in the region, with the participation of mayors and local representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daniel Rivera pointed out that Santiago has 16 municipal districts and 10 municipalities, which is why he considered it essential that the needs of each demarcation be identified and presented directly to the head of state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt represents a great source of pride,\u201d stated Daniel Rivera, highlighting that the president can interact directly with local authorities and learn firsthand about the main demands of the communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The presidential agenda also includes meetings with sectors linked to water and energy, as part of the process of evaluating the priority needs of Santiago and other locations in the Cibao region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Luis Abinader is carrying out a workday this Tuesday from Santiago, where he has temporarily moved his office to hold meetings with authorities, legislators, business leaders, and representatives of different sectors of the province and the Cibao region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During his stay, the president addresses issues considered priorities for the area, including health, energy, water, construction, and municipal affairs, in an agenda that seeks to follow up on the main needs of Santiago and other localities in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The temporary relocation of the presidential office to Santiago is part of a three-day agenda, during which Abinader is holding meetings with officials, municipal authorities, and representatives of productive sectors, with the aim of learning about and following up on projects and needs in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agenda includes meetings with health sector authorities, the Electrical Cabinet, business representatives, provincial mayors, and the Water and Construction cabinets.
