Santo Domingo.- <\/strong>The five young people Maikol Arias<\/strong>, Mayury S\u00e1nchez<\/strong>, Abril del Rosario Jim\u00e9nez<\/strong>, Franchesca Su\u00e1rez<\/strong>, and Ismael Dur\u00e1n de la Rosa<\/strong> have already made history by reaching 430 hours of continuous group reading<\/strong> this Friday, giving the Dominican Republic<\/strong> the Guinness World Record<\/strong>, a mark that was previously held by Nigeria<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the guys are set to take their feat to another level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities from the Ministry of Youth<\/a>, the event organizer, <\/strong>reported that the young people are preparing to advance toward the goal of 500 hours<\/strong> that they have set out to reach <\/strong>in this international challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since last August 31st, young people from different provinces of the country<\/strong> have been maintaining this challenge uninterruptedly, which combines reading, youth, and civic participation through a continuous 24-hour broadcast.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Deputy Minister of Youth, Fernando Lagares, <\/strong>stated that the personal desire of the young people is to reach 500 hours, a goal that seeks to set a record that is more difficult to surpass. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To achieve this, Lagares<\/strong> assured that participants have extensive support, which includes medical and psychological assistance,<\/strong> masseurs, and accompaniment during their rest periods<\/strong>, thus guaranteeing the necessary conditions to continue with this challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTheir desire is to reach <\/em>500 hours so that this record is not easy to break.<\/em><\/strong> We as an administration are giving them incredible support. We are providing medical and psychological support, uh, with each one of them who goes out, we accompany them with their masseur, rest,\u201d<\/em> detailed the Deputy Minister of Youth, Fernando Lagares. <\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also explained that with this initiative they also seek to carry a message of motivation for new generations<\/strong>, highlighting the importance of fostering the habit of reading as a tool for learning, training, and personal growth for young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The closing of the \u201cYouth Out Loud\u201d<\/em> marathon is scheduled to end this Sunday, when the 480 hours of continuous reading<\/strong> are completed. With 430 hours reached, 50 hours remain<\/strong> to reach the 480 hours,<\/strong> so the initiative is entering its decisive stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
