Santo Domingo.- <\/strong>Film producer Francis Disla<\/a>,<\/strong> better known as \u201cEl Indio\u201d<\/em>, directs the new Dominican comedy La F\u00e1brica de Bodas,<\/strong> which, as he highlighted, had a very good reception during its presentation in New York City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe want people to laugh, but also to be able to recognize themselves in these characters. Behind every immigrant there is a story, a sacrifice, and a dream. The film speaks to that, but without ever losing the humor, the love, and the humanity,\u201d<\/em> highlighted Francis Disla, El Indio, director of the film. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Disla <\/strong>pointed out that the film conveys a message about the importance of acting with caution, even though New York is known as the city of dreams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The film stars Mexican actor Kuno Becker<\/a>, American actress Jenna Wheller, and Dominican actors Cheddy Garc\u00eda, Fausto Mata, and Zoe Marti. The cast is completed by Tony Pascual (Pachul\u00ed), Aquiles Correa, Conrado Ortiz, Noel Ventura, Kiki Mel\u00e9ndez, Fausto Rojas, and La Pitonisa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a city where everything seems possible, but nothing turns out to be easy, Alex (Kuno) encounters situations and opportunities that lead him down a completely different path than the one he had imagined. Between his job as a barber and a nightclub waiter, he faces problems of deportation and losing the love of his life, his daughter Cherry (Zoe). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To avoid that, his sister-in-law (Cheddy) proposes that he enter into a marriage of convenience with a ‘drunken, party-loving gringa’ (Jenna); but everything goes wrong and he begins to be pursued by immigration officers (Ed Trucco). To solve the problems, they hire a homosexual lawyer (Fausto), which leads to occurrences that border on the absurd. La F\u00e1brica de Bodas turns the Latino immigrant experience into a story full of humor, humanity, and hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This film uses comedy as a vehicle to talk about a deeply human phenomenon: leaving behind the place where you were born to pursue an American dream,” added El Indio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, it bets on a Latin identity comedy with an international vocation, connecting the Caribbean and Latin America with the experience of millions of Hispanics who have built a new life in the United States, and where New York also functions as a character within the story: a fast-paced, multicultural, and contradictory city, capable of destroying a plan in a matter of seconds and, at the same time, offering an opportunity where it is least expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With absurd situations, endearing characters, and a fresh take on migration, The Wedding Factory seeks to demonstrate that, even when the so-called \u201cAmerican dream\u201d turns into absolute madness, there is always room to laugh, reinvent oneself, and keep dreaming. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
