In the worst-case scenario, this could lead to a loss of steering control and increase the risk of an accident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Owners will be asked to bring their vehicles in for inspection, where the affected screw will be replaced free of charge with a corrosion-resistant version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No property damage or injuries linked to the defect have been reported so far.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>German automakers Audi and Volkswagen will recall more than 2.1 million vehicles worldwide, including nearly one million in Germany, due to a potentially defective screw connection in the steering system.
