The visit was documented by content creator Chinita Paisa, who shared a video of the encounter on Instagram. In the footage, Mamdani can be seen trying the Colombian specialties and joking about how much he might eat during the visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m going to gain so much weight here. I\u2019m very excited,\u201d Mamdani said while laughing. When someone accompanying him asked whether that was dangerous, he replied, \u201cDangerous. But very good.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The bakery, Seba Seba, was founded by brothers Luis and Rub\u00e9n Vel\u00e1zquez in Jackson Heights. According to the story shared with the video, Luis arrived in New York at age 16 without speaking English and eventually built the business with his brother.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
