Ellis County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an emergency call early Thursday and found Lemmon covered in blood, with self-inflicted cuts to her wrists and a firearm nearby.

Inside the home, authorities found Christopher Scott Pitre, 21, dead from gunshot wounds. His 15-year-old younger brother was transported to a hospital in critical condition but later died from his injuries.

According to an affidavit obtained by local media, Lemmon allegedly admitted to officers that she had shot both of her sons before injuring herself. Her injuries were not considered life-threatening.
