San Cristobal.- The Judicial Department of San Cristobal is steadily advancing towards the national goal of justice on time. Currently, 91% of its courtrooms operate without a backlog of pending cases, a milestone that reflects an 80% reduction in judicial delay compared to May 2024.
This data was presented during a meeting between judges and judicial officers, where progress in the processing of files within the Case Management System was evaluated. The jurisdiction covers the provinces of San Cristóbal, Azua, Peravia, and San José de Ocoa.
Monitoring is part of the “Tribunales al Día” strategy, led by the Judicial Service and Operations Directorate. The presentation was given by magistrate Alfis Castillo, presiding judge of the Collegiate Court of the First Instance Court of San José de Ocoa, who highlighted the impact of the management system and virtual hearings as key tools to reduce procedural backlog nationwide.
Castillo explained that the advances are the result of multiple actions executed in 2024, such as strengthening operational support, continuous staff training, and assistance from the Operations Center. Thanks to this, more than 26,000 procedures were managed and normalized, consolidating positive results in this demarcation.
The magistrate also valued the role of the National School of the Judiciary (ENJ) in the updating and training of judicial personnel, highlighting the importance of keeping judges and servants informed and trained in the face of the new challenges of the justice system.
Week with the ENJ
From May 26 to 30, the “Week with the National School of the Judiciary” was held in the Judicial Department of San Cristóbal, a day dedicated to reinforcing the technical, ethical, and human competencies of judicial personnel.
The program included panels, conferences, and workshops with experts in law, psychology, pedagogy, and technology, as well as interventions by justices of the Supreme Court of Justice, the Constitutional Court, and representatives of the Inspection Directorate of the Judiciary and the Gender Commission.
With these actions, the Judiciary reaffirms its commitment to offer an agile, transparent, and up-to-date service, betting on modernization and institutional strengthening in every corner of the country.
