Santo Domingo.– President Luis Abinader enacted Law 25-26 this Wednesday, a regulation that establishes the creation of a national mechanism aimed at streamlining the search and location of persons reported missing in the Dominican Republic.
The new legislation creates the system called “Alertas RD”, a tool that will allow State institutions to coordinate rapid response actions to reports of disappearances, with the purpose of improving the authorities’ reaction capacity.
In accordance with the provisions of the law, the system seeks to strengthen search procedures through the coordination of efforts between public agencies and entities linked to the protection of citizens.
The initiative arises with the goal of offering a more efficient response in situations involving missing persons, especially in cases that require immediate intervention to preserve the integrity and safety of those affected.

Likewise, the regulations emphasize the protection of vulnerable groups and respect for human dignity, establishing a legal framework for the activation of search protocols throughout the national territory.
