Abinader reviews ongoing works, defines priorities for 2026

Santo Domingo Norte.– President Luis Abinader led a Working Table this Saturday with the main authorities of the municipality of Santo Domingo Norte, with the aim of following up on the problems and needs of each community, evaluating the progress of the works in progress and determining which projects should be started in the next budget for the year 2026. The leader reported that he has been working in conjunction with community leaders and municipal authorities from different sectors, including Los Guaricanos, Villa Mella South and North, Sabana Perdida South and North, as well as the municipality of La Victoria. This meeting focused on continuing to promote community development and address key urban challenges. “This initiative is part of a broader Government strategy to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its programs and projects throughout the country. In municipalities like Santo Domingo Norte, significant progress has been made thanks to the collaboration between institutions and community leaders,” said the president. In that same vein, the head of state highlighted the importance of working together with the communities to understand their needs and find effective solutions. During this meeting, the ruler thanked the collaboration of the community leaders and mayors involved, and announced that he will continue with this work in other parts of the country, including Santiago, where he plans to hold a meeting soon. The activity, which lasted two hours, took place in the hall of the Polideportivo de la Nueva Barquita. The meeting is part of a series of presidential initiatives that seek greater coordination between the central government and the municipalities to execute projects with a direct impact on the communities. The visit to Santo Domingo Norte highlights the Government’s commitment to direct dialogue in the neighborhoods to translate it into immediate investments. Government With You President Abinader has been making contact with the different community sectors of the country through the Government With You program, with the purpose of knowing firsthand the problems of Dominicans and finding solutions for them.

Here are some of the communities or municipalities where Gobierno Contigo has been carried out:

Barrio Nuevo, in Sabana Perdida, Santo Domingo Norte. This includes neighborhoods such as Lotes y Servicios, Barrio Nuevo Sur and Norte, Altos de Chavón, Las Colinas, Villa Esperanza 1 and 2, Libertad, Brisas del Este, Hong Kong, Brisas del Paraíso, La Mina, among others. Likewise, La Ureña in Santo Domingo East and the municipality of Pedro Brand. Also, in the municipality of San Antonio de Guerra and in the province of San Cristóbal. Present at the meeting were: the ministers of Public Works, Eduardo Estrella; of Sports, Kelvin Cruz; the directors of the Social Plan of the Presidency, Yadira Henríquez; of the National Health Service (SNS), Mario Lama; the mayor Betty Gerónimo, and the director of the Presidential Commission for Support to Neighborhood Development, Rolfi Rojas. Also, the directors of INDRHI, Olmedo Caba; of Community Technology Centers, Isidro Torres; of PROPEEP, Robert Polanco; Governor Lucrecia Leyva; of the Presidential Commission to Support Provincial Development, Ángel de la Cruz; of the Economic Dining Halls, Édgar Félix; of Community Development, Modesto Guzmán, and the director of CEA, Rafael Burgos Gómez.
