Santo Domingo.– President Luis Abinader assured that the Dominican Republic is heading towards an unprecedented technological transformation, aimed at generating quality jobs, attracting investments and positioning the country as a regional benchmark in innovation.
During a meeting with more than 400 students from the National District, the president explained that this digital boost is based on education, innovation, and institutional strengthening. He highlighted agreements with Google, initiatives with NVIDIA, and projects related to the assembly of semiconductors to insert the country into the economy of the future.

Education and technical training
The ruler highlighted the expansion of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo and the growth of the National Institute for Technical Professional Training, which went from eight to 67 centers. He also mentioned advances in early childhood education, expansion of school transportation, modernization of technical workshops, and the construction of roofing in educational centers.
Scholarships and skills for the future
Abinader urged young people to use the
Beca Tu Futuro platform of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology and to take advantage of digital tools. In addition, he reiterated the goal of moving towards a bilingual education.
Development and Poverty Reduction
The president highlighted that monetary poverty decreased from 25.5% in 2019 to 17.3% in 2025, with a target of 15% for 2028, and emphasized that economic growth, education, and security are part of sustainable development.
Institutional Strengthening
The Head of State cited as a legacy the constitutional reform that limits re-election and the independence of the Public Ministry, measures that strengthen legal security and investor confidence.
The Minister of Education, Luis Miguel De Camps, highlighted the expansion of English, STEM education, and technical-professional training, while the student Melani García Jiménez thanked the government’s support for the education sector.
The president concluded by urging young people to train with ethics and responsibility to become protagonists of the country’s future.
