The failure originated in an internal circuit breaker of the airport’s electrical system, which prevented the distribution of power to the different areas of the terminal, although the runway and control tower continued to operate thanks to an independent system.“It was possible to restore power throughout the AILA terminal building. We appreciate your patience and understanding in this extraordinary situation,” the company indicated.

During the contingency, the arrival and departure processes of passengers were affected, because the internal systems could not be used, which generated delays in airport services.
