Montecristi.- A group composed of 42 Haitian nationals in irregular migratory condition was intercepted by members of the Dominican Republic Army (ERD) while traveling through a rural area of the municipality of Guayubín, in the province of Montecristi.
According to military authorities, the foreigners were walking at unspecified hours, evading the military detachment of the Mangá community, when they were surprised by a patrol composed of soldiers from the ERD and intelligence personnel from the institution.
The group was made up of 29 men, 12 women, and a minor, all without legal documentation to remain in the country.
After being detained, the migrants were transferred to the headquarters of the 4th Infantry Brigade of the Army, where they underwent the corresponding process, which includes their handover to the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) for repatriation procedures to their country of origin.
