Army seizes contraband of more than 61 thousand units of cigarettes in Dajabón

Dajabón. – During surveillance work in the border area of Dajabón, the Dominican Republic Army seized a contraband of sixty-one thousand two hundred 61,200 cigarettes illegally introduced into the national territory. The contraband was seized while a relief truck was fulfilling its patrol mission in La Vigía, near the service post located at the entrance to the Blue Bridge. The soldiers spotted three sacks thrown on the shore, immediately proceeding to seize them.

Inside, 306 packs of 10 x 20 cigarettes were found, for a total of 61,200 units of the Capital brand.

The merchandise was moved to the fortress of the 10th Infantry Battalion, ERD, where the acting personnel carried out the corresponding count. The seized merchandise remains in custody for the relevant legal purposes.
