Santo Domingo.– Regarding the recent decrees issued by President Luis Abinader, consulted citizens expressed divided opinions on which officials they believe should be removed or ratified within the Government, in a context marked by expectations of changes and social demands.
Some citizens believe that the modifications should be profound. Kelvin, one of the interviewees, understands that the president should completely renew his team.
“With so many mistakes that these leaders have made, I think the whole train should be changed. Give new people a chance and let the change really be felt,” he expressed.
Meanwhile, others expressed more severe criticisms of the government’s management. Mr. Tavárez expressed his discontent with the country’s economic and security situation.
“I urge the president to resign. Hunger, desperation, and insecurity will not be able to be endured,” he affirmed.
Some opinions focused on specific officials. Attorney Ricardo Guerrero pointed out that he has heard numerous complaints about Faride Raful’s management, indicating that her permanence in the position should be evaluated based on the problems affecting society.
In the same vein, Jessica María stated:
“I would like them to remove Faride from Interior and Police.”
Other citizens pointed to sensitive areas of the State. Vicente Pérez considered that changes should be made in the electricity system and social assistance programs, sectors that, in his opinion, require urgent restructuring.
For his part, Rafael Arciniega mentioned the need to review the performance of several figures in the Government, although he excluded Guido Gómez Mazara from his criticisms, whom he considered one of the few officials who should remain.
A more analytical stance was expressed by Teodoro Vásquez, who valued the departure of
Limber Cruz from the Ministry of Agriculture as correct, considering that his management failed to address key problems in the agricultural sector, such as poultry production and African swine fever.
However, he questioned the appointment of Nelson Arroyo in Customs, calling it misguided, while positively valuing other moves, such as those of Yayo Sanz Lovatón and Ito Bisonó, who he acknowledged a good reception in the positions they have held.
The impressions gathered reflect a climate of expectations, criticisms, and citizen demands regarding the recent presidential decrees, showing that a portion of the population expects that the changes in public administration will translate into concrete improvements in the economy, security, and basic services.
