Esperanza.- Members of the Northwest Regional Intelligence Sub-directorate (DINTEL), in coordination with the Preventive Police, seized an assault rifle, a shotgun, a pistol, ammunition, cell phones, and a vehicle during an operation carried out in the municipal district of Jicomé, Esperanza municipality, where two men were also detained for investigation purposes.
The intervention is part of the intelligence, tracking, and surveillance efforts carried out by the National Police to prevent criminal acts and combat the illegal circulation of firearms in the Northwest region.
The detainees were identified as Yeifre Ibaner Domingo Mora, 44, and Euromar Antonio Montesino González, 32, who were intercepted while traveling in a red Chevrolet Nova vehicle along the main street of Jicomé.

The authorities indicated that the weapons were carried without documents proving their legal possession or origin, so they were seized for the corresponding purposes.
According to the preliminary report, during the search of Domingo Mora, an Anderson AM-15 rifle, 5.56 millimeter caliber, with a magazine and two stocks; a Lion brand shotgun, 12 gauge, with five cartridges; and a Walther P99 pistol, 9 millimeter caliber, with its magazine and five rounds were seized. Two cell phones were also confiscated.

The detainees, along with the weapons, ammunition, cell phones, and the seized vehicle, will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office. Meanwhile, investigations continue to determine the origin of the evidence and possible links to other criminal acts.
