Dominicans will be able to travel to Mongolia without a visa after a new diplomatic agreement

SANTO DOMINGO – The governments of the Dominican Republic and Mongolia have formalized a visa waiver agreement that will allow citizens of both countries to travel without the need for this document. According to diplomatic note DU/TI-051162, issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX), the measure applies to holders of ordinary, diplomatic and official passports.

Although the agreement was originally signed on September 26, 2024, its official approval in Dominican territory occurred on November 28, 2025, under resolution 94-25, after completing the relevant legal requirements. Currently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic is awaiting information on the status of ratification in Mongolia to proceed with the definitive entry into force of the pact.

The negotiations and monitoring of this agreement have been channeled through the diplomatic missions of both countries based in Cuba, given that the Mongolian Embassy in that nation is concurrent with the Dominican Republic. MIREX expressed its gratitude to the Mongolian embassy for the efforts made to concretize this migratory facility that seeks to strengthen the ties between both nations.
