Santiago.- The Construction Workers’ Pension Fund (
FOPETCONS), recognized 125 new pensioners, who will now receive the economic benefit of RD$10,082.10, as an act of dignity for decades of effort, sacrifice and dedication in the works that have driven the development of the Dominican Republic.
During the meeting, the Executive Director Faustino de los Santos, informed that so far in 2025, FOPETCONS has benefited 380 additional workers, reaching a cumulative total of more than 9,000 pensioners nationwide.
“These achievements have been made possible thanks to Law 6-86, which establishes the contribution for each work built in the country, guaranteeing social security and well-being to construction workers,” stated Santo.
Rosa de los Santos, governor of Santiago de los Caballeros, said that construction workers in the North Region have played a key role in the nation’s growth.
“With the construction of housing, roads, schools, hospitals and bridges, the territory has been consolidated as a development engine, thanks to the tireless work of thousands of construction workers,” highlighted Rosa Santos.
While the Vice Minister of Labor Julián Mateo highlighted the importance of compliance with Law 06-86, indicating that the pensions granted by FOPETCONS are not a gift, they are social justice, he declared that it is an act of dignity towards men and women who gave their lives to honest work and who today receive what rightfully belongs to them.
While Juan Rosa, general director of Retirements and Pensions in charge of the State, expressed that the Dominican government, through its growing investments in the construction sector, not only strengthens the national economy, but also consolidates the pension fund that provides security to workers, thus recognizing their invaluable contribution to society.
With the incorporation of these 125 new beneficiaries, FOPETCONS reiterated its commitment to continue honoring the work of Dominican builders and to ensure that the old age of the sector’s workers is lived with tranquility, respect, and recognition.
