INDOCAL recognizes excellence in management during the 2025 Quality Award ceremony

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Institute for Quality (INDOCAL) held this Thursday the Awards Ceremony of the INDOCAL Quality Award 2025, in its second edition, a recognition that distinguishes public, private and mixed organizations that have achieved high standards of management, excellence and continuous improvement. The act was led by the general director of INDOCAL, Néstor Matos, who highlighted that the initiative represents a firm step towards a more competitive, reliable, and aligned Dominican Republic with national and international standards. The INDOCAL Quality Award is based on the three pillars of quality infrastructure: standardization, metrology, and conformity assessment, essential elements to boost the efficiency and competitiveness of the country’s organizations.

In this edition, organizations from key sectors such as port and maritime logistics, construction, airports, hotels, the cement industry, manufacturing, technology, pharmaceuticals, beverages, furniture, and metrological services were recognized.

Winners 2025

  • SMEs: GESA
  • Government organization: Laboratorio Nacional Dr. Defilló
  • Private organization (non-SME): Laboratorio Referencia
During his intervention, Matos highlighted that this award is more than a prize, as it demonstrates the country’s commitment to quality and constant improvement.

“Today is a very significant day for INDOCAL and for the Dominican Republic. This award demonstrates that we are moving towards a future where Dominican products and services compete with national and international standards,” he affirmed.
