Santo Domingo.- The Minister of Housing and Buildings (MIVED), Carlos Bonilla, made a supervisory visit this Wednesday to the completion works in the construction of the new block of Building C of the Doctor Luis Eduardo Aybar Sanitary City in the National District.
This block, which is projected to be delivered in August of this year, consists of a six-level clinical-surgical building, providing 122 new hospitalization beds to the health system, intended for patients in various medical conditions.
During the tour, Minister Bonilla said: “We are supervising all the engineering work on Building C, which is the last one missing from the hospital complex of the Ciudad Sanitaria. The medical equipment that is already here will be installed soon. We are very happy with the progress, we are confident that we will meet the delivery date, which is August of this year.”
For his part, the president of the Luis Eduardo Aybar Health City, Dr. José Joaquín Puello Herrera, indicated: “There is a serious commitment on the part of the MIVED and President Luis Abinader in this hospital complex, which already operates at 85%, we have hundreds of doctors and nurses working. This clinical-surgical center is of very high technology, to find a center of this magnitude, you have to travel many miles outside of this country.”
The modern health center will include 14 general operating rooms, designed to perform highly complex surgical interventions.

It will also have 36 cubicles for intensive care (ICU), which will allow specialized care for patients in critical condition.
In addition, 16 hemodialysis cubicles will be enabled, strengthening the health system’s capacity to treat chronic kidney diseases.
The C Building is part of the reconstruction and modernization plan of the Luis Eduardo Aybar Health City, which seeks to consolidate this complex as a regional benchmark in public medical care.
This hospital center is designed to be one of the most complete and modern medical infrastructures in the entire Caribbean.
