Octavio Dotel’s wife claims RD$300 million from Jet Set owners in formal complaint

Santo Domingo, R.D. Massiel Javier Almonte, wife of former Major League pitcher Octavio Dotel, is claiming compensation of 300 million pesos against the owners of the renowned nightclub Jet Set, through a formal complaint filed with the Prosecutor’s Office of the National District.

The legal action was filed with constitution as a civil actor by their lawyers Ingrid Hidalgo Martínez, José Antonio Valdez Fernández and Manuel Antonio García, who also requested the Public Ministry to impose personal and real coercion measures against Antonio Espaillat, Ana Grecia López, Maribel Espaillat and Evelyn Espaillat.

This lawsuit formalizes a previous complaint filed by Almonte, although the specific details of the conflict underlying the claim have not yet been publicly disclosed. The document was delivered to the headquarters of the National District Attorney’s Office, where the evaluation process will begin to determine if the formal opening of a judicial investigation is appropriate.
