Santo Domingo. Former congresswoman Priscila D’Oleo highlighted the leadership of congressman Adriano Espaillat, whom she defined as the main articulator of the interests of the Dominican diaspora in Washington and a key figure in strengthening the ties between the Dominican Republic and the United States.
D’Oleo stated that the political trajectory of Espaillat, current chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus of the United States, represents the result of decades of effort, perseverance, and sacrifice by the Dominican community living abroad.

“Adriano Espaillat has managed to transform the Dominican presence in the United States, turning our voice into an institutional force that is respected and consulted in the most influential spaces in Washington. His leadership has not only broken down historical barriers, but has also built concrete bridges that favor development, investment, and the strengthening of relations between both nations,” he expressed.
The former legislator maintained that the congressman has become an example of overcoming obstacles for thousands of Dominicans inside and outside the country, demonstrating that commitment, discipline, and preparation can open spaces for representation and leadership in scenarios of great international relevance.
Likewise, he highlighted that Espaillat has maintained a close connection with his Dominican roots and a permanent commitment to the needs of the diaspora, promoting initiatives that contribute to the well-being and development of Hispanic communities in the United States.
“We recognize in Adriano a leader who has known how to honor his roots and work tirelessly for our people. His work in the U.S. Congress demonstrates that the Dominican diaspora is a force for change and progress, and that under his leadership that influence will continue to grow,” stated D’Oleo.
The leader also underscored the importance of strengthening Dominican political representation in international arenas and considered that figures like Adriano Espaillat constitute fundamental pillars for the future of the Dominican community in the 21st century.
