Rock crushes vehicle in Jarabacoa; occupants survive

La Vega.– A large rock broke away from a mountain and fell on a vehicle that was traveling on the afternoon of this Saturday on Federico Basilis street, a road that connects La Vega with Jarabacoa, generating moments of great tension in the area. The impact destroyed the front of the car, which subsequently caught fire. However, the two occupants managed to escape alive and only suffered minor injuries, despite the extent of the material damage.

Units from the Jarabacoa Fire Department arrived at the scene, extinguished the flames, and offered assistance to those affected. Authorities warned drivers to exercise extreme caution when driving through this section
