Rainfall will remain limited
Santo Domingo.– The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) reported that this Friday, good weather conditions will prevail across most of the national territory due to low humidity and a moderate to slightly heavy concentration of Saharan dust, which will favor a dry environment, grayish skies, intense sun, and high temperatures.
The agency explained that rainfall will be scarce throughout the day, although isolated showers could be recorded in the afternoon over the towns of Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, the southern part of Santiago, San Juan, and Santiago Rodríguez.
Indomet indicated that temperatures will remain hot due to the combination of the summer season, the increase in Saharan dust, and the prevailing southeast wind. Maximums will range between 33 °C and 35 °C, while minimums will be between 23 °C and 25 °C.

Given these conditions, it recommended that the population stay well hydrated, wear light-colored, lightweight clothing, remain in cool places, and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, especially between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Likewise, it reminded that children, the elderly, and pregnant women are the groups most vulnerable to high temperatures.
Regarding tropical systems, the agency reported that Tropical Storm Bertha weakened overnight Thursday, first into a tropical depression and subsequently into a low-pressure system, thus ceasing to be of meteorological interest.

For this Saturday, an increase in cloudiness is expected during the afternoon due to the influence of an upper-level trough and a tropical wave. These conditions will favor scattered showers with thunderstorms over provinces such as La Altagracia, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, Sánchez Ramírez, the northern part of San Juan, and the southern part of Santiago, as well as other nearby areas.
While on Sunday, the combination of a tropical wave and a trough will cause a gradual increase in cloudiness from the morning, with showers and thunderstorms over the northeast, southeast, the Central Mountain Range, and the border area. In the afternoon and evening hours, moderate to heavy downpours, thunderstorms, and wind gusts are expected in those regions.
