Under 10 years old shot in Hermanas Mirabal sector of SFM

San Francisco de Macorís. – A 10-year-old boy was injured by a gunshot wound on the afternoon of this Thursday in an incident that occurred in the Hermanas Mirabal sector, in this city. According to versions offered by family members, the minor was in his grandmother’s house when an individual identified by the nickname “Pitito” allegedly fired several shots at the residence, hitting the child.

The minor’s mother called on the person indicated to turn himself in to the authorities and answer for what happened. She regretted that this type of violent acts occur in environments where there are children and families. Meanwhile, the little one’s grandmother expressed her outrage at what had happened and stated that more than five shots were heard, without understanding the reasons that would have motivated the attack. The minor was immediately transferred to a health center, where he is receiving medical attention. So far, the authorities are investigating the circumstances of the event to find the person responsible.
