Santo Domingo.- A woman was sentenced to one year in prison for committing electoral crimes after allegedly voting more than once during the presidential and congressional elections of May 2024, while serving as a political delegate.
n” “nThe sentence was imposed on Miscleidy Féliz Cuevas by a court in Barahona, after the Public Prosecutor’s Office reached an agreement through an abbreviated criminal procedure.
n” “nThe one-year prison sentence was suspended under several conditions established by the court, so Féliz Cuevas must comply with the requirements imposed to avoid entering a penitentiary center.
According to the information provided by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the accused allegedly voted in more than one polling station, an action classified as a violation of the rules governing electoral processes in the country.
