David Collado describes the Meet in Paradise meeting in Canada as “historic”

The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, described the Meet in Paradise meeting in Canada as “historic,” highlighting that it brought together 1,250 representatives from the tourism sector, including travel agents, tour operators, and airline executives from that market.
Upon his arrival at the road show, the official assured that it is the first time the Dominican Republic has held an event of this magnitude in Canadian territory, as part of its strategy to strengthen the arrival of visitors to the country.
“Dominican Republic making history. A gathering of 1,250 people, travel agents and tour operators from all over Canada,” expressed Collado, who highlighted that the participants play a decisive role in the marketing of tourist destinations.
The minister explained that the initiative seeks to bring the Dominican offer closer to those who guide the travel decisions of Canadians. He also pointed out that the country is trying to attract travelers who are evaluating other options due to the difficulties faced by nearby destinations.
“To carry the Dominican Republic with love and passion throughout the world. These are not good news that come out or fall from the sky, we work for them,” he stated.
Collado announced that the promotional agenda will continue in New York, where he plans to participate in a meeting and the launch of a campaign. Subsequently, he will travel to London for the World Travel Market (WTM) tourism fair.
“We are not stopping and we are not going to stop, and I am not going to lose focus for a minute on promoting my beautiful country,” he/she affirmed. When assessing the day, he/she highlighted the work, persistence, and dedication behind the initiative.
The road show marked the closing of the Meet in Paradise event with a presentation of the Dominican tourism offer, drink tastings, and merengue. The meeting served as a stage to showcase the agreements reached and strengthen commercial ties with professionals in the Canadian market.
