US personal consumption price inflation rises 3 tenths in June to 2.6%

Washington.– The Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index in the U.S., a key figure for the Federal Reserve (Fed) in its decisions on interest rates, closed the month of June with a year-on-year increase of 2.6%, an increase of three tenths compared to the 2.3% of May, according to information released this Thursday by the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA). The new figure is in line with analysts’ estimates, who predict that this upward trend will continue in the coming months as economic indicators begin to reflect the effects of President Donald Trump’s tariff policy. In monthly terms, prices grew by 0.3%. Excluding volatile food and energy, the underlying PCE price index rose 2.8% compared to the same month in 2024, one tenth more than in May.
