“Avatar: Fire and Ashes” premieres in the Dominican Republic

SANTO DOMINGO. – The long-awaited film “Avatar: Fire and Ashes”, directed by James Cameron, arrives in Dominican theaters with a story that once again transports the audience to the amazing world of Pandora, where emotion, conflict and once again amazing visual effects are mixed. Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldaña return as Jake and Neytiri. The plot picks up the life of the Sully family weeks after the events in “Avatar: The Way of Water”, delving into the challenges of surviving in the midst of war and how parents and children face pain, loss, and transformation.

Among the elements that expand this universe, two new communities appear: the Wind Traders, a nomadic clan that dominates the skies, and the Ash People, inhabitants marked by the volcanic destruction that has eroded their faith in Eywa, the spiritual force that connects all life on Pandora. Their presence brings a darker and more complex atmosphere to the story. The cast also includes Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, David Thewlis, and Giovanni Ribisi, among others. The film once again stands out for the work of Wētā FX, whose technology pushes the boundaries of performance capture and digital effects. There are more than three thousand shots with visual effects, accompanied by a careful production design, costumes, and the original music by Simon Franglen.

Released in 2009, “Avatar” became the highest-grossing film in history, an achievement reaffirmed by its sequel “Avatar: The Way of Water” in 2022. With this new installment, scheduled for 2025, James Cameron continues to expand the cinematic universe by exploring new cultures, conflicts, and emotions within Pandora.
