Miami (USA).- Chilean host Don Francisco will premiere ‘Gigantes con Don Francisco’ on October 11, a series of special programs that will be recorded in the same studio where he made ‘Sábado Gigante’, as announced this Friday by the network TelevisaUnivision.

‘Sábado Gigante’ was on the air for 53 years, from 1962 in Chile until September 2015 in the United States, which is why it holds the Guinness record for the longest-running variety show hosted by the same presenter, whose real name is Mario Kreutzberger.

Don Francisco, 85, had not had a regular program on the network since then.

Among the guests are the Mexican singer and actress Lucero, the Puerto Rican performer Luis Fonsi, and the goalkeeper of the Mexican national team Guillermo ‘Memo’ Ochoa.

Each installment will be built around a guest, with a live band, archival footage, and reunions with family and friends, as well as a studio audience, according to the company.

Mexican presenter Nitzia Chama, from the morning show ‘Despierta América’, will be the co-host.

The premiere will be at 7:00 PM Eastern Time (23:00 GMT) on the Univision network, and the program will be available the following day on the ViX platform.
