Puerto Rico.– Singer Manny Manuel was unable to take the stage on Saturday night during the
“Merengue Legends” event, held at the
Coca-Cola Music Hall, due to a relapse in his health, a situation that generated public apologies from the organizers.

I don’t know if it’s the alcohol, but I ask you to please, any claim you are going to make with Manny Manuel, I will stand up for him, because he wanted to do it from the heart”, expressed
Víctor Roque, leader of the orchestra La Gran Manzana, when presenting the interpreter of

Roque clarified that Manny Manuel did arrive at the venue, but the decision was made that he would not go on stage. “It’s very difficult to fulfill for you because today he really had a relapse situation,” he confessed to the audience, according to a video released on social media.
The show promised to bring together The Big Apple,
Wilfrido Vargas, and the so-called “King of Hearts,” for an evening of merengue hits. However, the artist’s instability prevented his participation.
It is worth remembering that in October of last year, Manny Manuel celebrated his 30-year career on that same stage, describing the occasion as an “eternal gratitude” to the support of the public despite his battles with alcohol. On that occasion, he assured that adversity has given him a “special perspective on life that he would not change anything.”
The artist, who in March of this year announced his marriage to his partner Pablo, has not offered direct statements about what happened. However, his press spokesperson,
Cindy Villarraga, reported that a statement will be issued later “with the love and respect that the fanbase deserves.”
