Meghan Markle has a date for her return to television and her debut on ‘MasterChef’

“Meghan Markle could land a role in Guy Ritchie’s Netflix series The Gentlemen,” Deadline headlined an article on August 21st that spread like wildfire across the internet. Barely 24 hours after the return of Prince Harry and his wife to the United Kingdom was made public, six years after their high-profile departure to the United States, the film industry outlet pointed to the Duchess’s possible addition to the cast of the third season of the show, set in the English countryside, as one of the reasons for their return. However, both parties have denied this possibility.
Sources close to Meghan Markle accused the platform of leaking those rumors to help promote the second season of the series, which premiered last September. “It’s the oldest marketing trick in the book: get a famous figure to read a script and then leak that you are ‘in talks’ with them,” they told The Telegraph. For their part, production insiders recently insisted to The Times that The Gentlemen does not need publicity. “This is not a series that needs to resort to famous actors,” they asserted.

This Monday, October 26, The Gentlemen confirmed the cast for the new installment, with additions such as Elijah Wood and Orlando Bloom, but with no sign of the Duchess of Sussex. The possibility of her return to acting has thus been dispelled, at least for the moment. But the former actress will indeed return to the small screen. This was confirmed this Tuesday by the Australian media outlet News.com.au, which announced exclusively that she will join the filming of the new season of MasterChef Junior Australia.
“A source close to the production confirmed that the popular show will return in 2027, six years after its previous season, with Meghan appearing alongside MasterChef Australia judge, Poh Ling Yeow,” claimed the Australian media outlet, which pointed to the Duchess as the host of this new edition that will air on the Australian channel Network 10 next year.
The magazine People, however, has later confirmed that she will be a “special guest,” just as it has been announced on the program’s Instagram profile. Source: El País
