Haiti.— The young
Melissa Queenie Sapini, 22 years old, was crowned this weekend as Miss Universe Haiti 2025, and will represent the Caribbean country in the 74th edition of the Miss Universe pageant, which will be held at the end of this year.
Melissa Queenie, as she is known on social media, is an actress, model, and news reporter, was born and raised in North Attleboro, Massachusetts (United States), in a Haitian family. Her mother emigrated from Haiti in 2001, seeking new opportunities for herself and her family.
“This crown not only represents beauty, but also the strength, hope, and resilience of the Haitian people. I want to be a voice for my country and for all the young people of the diaspora who are fighting to keep their identity alive,” Melissa expressed upon being crowned.
Road to Miss Universe 2025
With her selection, Sapini joins the list of candidates who will compete in Miss Universe 2025, where she will seek to highlight the cultural richness and indomitable spirit of Haiti. Her focus, as she stated, will be to promote education, gender equality, and the visibility of Haitian migrant communities in the world.
Her coronation has been celebrated both in Haiti and among Haitian communities in the United States, who see her as a symbol of a new generation of women who combine talent, preparation, and social commitment.
“I am a product of two worlds: the land that saw me born and the one that taught me to dream. My mission is to unite both with love and pride,” stated Sapini in her first official message as Miss Universe Haiti 2025.
