Santo Domingo.- Internist and intensivist Milvio Pérez, responsible for the treatment of publicist Vladimir Gómez (Vlady), offered details on the current state of the participant of the reality La Casa de Alofoke, after he was removed from the program again for medical reasons. In statements to De Último Minuto, Dr. Pérez reported that, unlike the first episode, on this occasion Vlady did not present high blood pressure at the time of his admission. However, his transfer was necessary due to symptoms such as general malaise, slight fever, and nausea, which led the general production of the program led by Santiago Matías and the medical team to consider the possibility of an infectious process. The specialist indicated that Vlady is currently under medical observation at the Abreu Clinic, where he is undergoing tests and clinical controls to determine the precise cause of his symptoms. He added that a viral or bacterial infection, which could be related to his recent participation in the reality show, has not been ruled out at the moment. The doctor clarified that, although Vlady had been stabilized after his second admission and authorized to return home, the new symptoms require a more in-depth evaluation, so the production, together with the health personnel, deemed a readmission necessary.

The decision on outpatient management or prolonged hospitalization will henceforth depend on the results of the ongoing studies, the specialist told DUM.

Regarding his medical recommendations, Dr. Pérez pointed out that Vlady needs absolute rest, something that is not viable within the context of the program, so they support the production team’s decision to keep him out of the competition. In addition, he suggested changes in the patient’s lifestyle, including a low-salt diet, weight control, and continuous monitoring of his blood pressure, actions that could help him improve his health and quality of life.

Regarding hypertension, the initial condition that caused his first hospitalization, the doctor explained that it is a multifactorial condition and that, in Vlady’s case, there is a strong genetic component. He added that, although the patient is overweight, their condition can develop even in people without obesity, so it is essential to implement long-term prevention and control measures. The doctor also pointed out that Vlady had not maintained rigorous control of his blood pressure in the past, so this relapse should serve as a starting point for stricter and sustained monitoring, in his diagnosis. Finally, the medical team reiterated that Vlady’s return to his usual routine will depend on his clinical evolution and his ability to maintain a stable state of health under permanent monitoring, after the results of his tests were known.
