Madrid, Jun 22.- The president of Vox, Santiago Abascal, has congratulated the far-right Abelardo de la Espriella for his victory this Sunday in the Colombian presidential elections with a narrow lead over the leftist Iván Cepeda, and on his X account he has stated that “Colombians have said enough to Petro’s narco-socialism”.

Abascal has stated that: “Colombians have granted victory to @ABDELAESPRIELLA and have said enough to the narco-socialism of Petro and his successors. Freedom, order, truth, and the sovereignty of nations are making their way with strength in Hispanic America”.

Far-right candidate Abelardo de la Espriella, from the Defenders of the Homeland movement, won the presidential runoff election in Colombia this Sunday, obtaining 12,921,702 votes (49.65%), a narrow lead of 248,310 ballots (0.95 percentage points) over leftist Iván Cepeda, according to 99.65% of the preliminary count conducted by the National Registry.

Cepeda, from the Historic Pact, the party of Colombian President Gustavo Petro, receives 12,673,392 votes, equivalent to 48.70%, according to the preliminary count.
