Madrid/Ceuta.- Security Forces estimate that some 53,000 people have voluntarily returned to Morocco from Ceuta following the massive arrivals of recent days, especially on Thursday, according to police sources who informed EFE.
The Government initially estimated the number of people who arrived irregularly in the autonomous city at 50,000, a figure that the Ceuta Executive raised to 60,000.
According to the data provided to EFE by the cited sources, the number of returnees exceeded 53,000 as of 8:00 p.m. this Friday.
The situation between Morocco and Ceuta
Sources consulted by EFE explain that counting the people returning to Morocco is easier than counting those who entered by various means in recent days.
Throughout Friday, thousands of people have headed down the access road to the border to return to Morocco for various reasons, including the announced agreement between Spain and Morocco for their repatriation, as well as the absence of shops, commercial centers, or bars open in Ceuta to meet their most basic needs.

Most of these people are young Moroccans between the ages of 18 and 35, who are wandering aimlessly through different population centers of the city.

Meanwhile, the Civil Guard and the Army, in this case the Ceuta Regular Group number 54, have been acting throughout the day on the beach in the Tarajal area to prevent more people from entering by sea.
Ceuta remains completely closed in terms of commerce and labor, so all businesses continue with their shutters down due to the insecurity perceived by residents following this massive entry.
Police increase their presence on the streets of Ceuta due to migrants who do not return
The National Police and the Local Police have increased their presence tonight on various streets and neighborhoods of Ceuta to locate groups of migrants who do not want to return voluntarily to Morocco.
The agents are proceeding to instruct these individuals that they must head to the Tarajal border to return through the same place they accessed yesterday.
