Bolsonaro and his team celebrated briefly after taking a brief lead over Lula

Flávio Bolsonaro and his team briefly celebrated on Sunday after the senator overtook Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva during the early stages of Brazil’s presidential runoff vote count.
The moment was captured on video by Pablo Marçal, who filmed himself among the group as they watched the results. When the numbers showed Flávio moving ahead, Marçal shouted and spun around while others jumped and applauded. Flávio stood behind him, following the count.
At 7:57 p.m., with 20.30% of polling stations counted, Flávio had 50.44% of valid votes, compared with Lula’s 49.56%, a difference of 223,831 votes.
However, the lead was short-lived. As counting continued, Lula ultimately secured reelection, winning 51.76% of valid votes against Flávio Bolsonaro’s 48.24%, according to the reported results.
