Bukele pledges El Salvador’s support to help Haiti regain control from armed gangs

El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele said his government would help Haiti regain control of its territory from armed gangs that have plunged the Caribbean nation into a deep security crisis.
Bukele’s remarks came after Haitian Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé said his government was determined to confront criminal groups with support from El Salvador.
“We are on the same side as you. We will help you take the country back from the hands of the traitors,” Bukele wrote in a message posted on his X account.
The statement signals El Salvador’s willingness to support Haiti’s efforts to address the violence and restore security across the country.
